Welcome and thank you for visiting the Upland Chapter of Pheasants Forever. Being associated with Pheasants Forever, we are committed to informing the public and helping them understand what our chapter is all about by giving them the necessary information on our site. Here, you can find information on recent projects, Marathon County and surrounding area's Pheasant Habitat status' and count updates, as well as other useful information. You'll find even more info in our Newsletter section.
Be sure to browse around our member section to learn about your local Pheasant Forever members. These members help the public get more acquainted with UCPF ( Upland Chapter Of Pheasants Forever ), and can provide information on how to become a member as well as the benefits of being a UCPF member. The new member section also contains contact information and job descriptions of each individual UCPF member.
Starting
out with the basics by distributing seed and planting food plots, UCPF
is now a highly recognized local organization that turns money into
habitat. With thousands of acres of food plots planted over the years
and hundreds of permanent acres set-a-side for nesting cover and
hundreds more waiting to be enrolled in our program, we are fast
becoming a conservation powerhouse.
We
have worked hand in hand with the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources with a Hungarian partridge
trap and release program. The birds were trapped in Brown county and
released into western Marathon and eastern Clark county. Also with the
success of our pheasant program in eastern Marathon county, the chapter
is looking to do the same in the western part of the county. The key to
success is our members, sponsors, and donors who provide the funding
and volunteer time for these projects. Without them. none of this would
have been possible .
